Wisdom of
Afara
Educating, empowering and reconnecting all people of African descent from Lagos to Liverpool, Kingston to Brooklyn, Salvador to Soweto.
"I am a descendant of those people, so I care about them as much as Africans. This wisdom belongs to all of us."
— Florence Cook, Founder
A wisdom that crosses every ocean, every border, every generation.
Wisdom of Afara was founded by Florence Cook a descendant of enslaved Africans, a cultural educator, and a daughter of the Diaspora to gather a family that history once tried to scatter.
We do not speak only to Africans on the continent. We speak to the African American who calls Atlanta home, the Caribbean child of Trinidad, the Afro-Brazilian whose ancestors were stolen from Angola, the British-born sister whose father came from Nigeria. We are one family, with one root, in many homes.
